Fall for Winter : Karrinyup Pop-up Fashion Parades

I was lucky enough to be a part of the Karrinyup Shopping Centre "Fall for Winter 14" pop-up fashion parades last weekend. With a great production & styling team behind the army of models, the shows were a lot of fun & definitely caught the attention of the customers out & about in the centre! I saw a few people I know and they all got quite the surprise . . .

Love : For Love & Lemons

We are S O in love with the For Love & Lemons label, and their latest Land of Eternal Spring look-book.

The Los Angeles based line, designed by Gillian Mahin & Laura Hall, could be described as 'modern day gypsy' and features a lot of daring lace, clashing colours and prints.

The location of the recent shoot & the chosen model (gorgeous Carola Remer) are both perfect to showcase this beautiful collection, and we can't stop looking through the gorgeous images.

We tried to pick our top 10, but it was impossible...

Love : Stylish Sunnies

We love adding to our eyewear collection here at belle | beau. Today we are having a look at some of our favourite frames for this coming season.

The looks that are on trend are quite varied - from cat eye (which is proving to be a strong contender in the style stakes for the 4th year in a row!) to flat top, there is something for everyone available at the moment.

Love : MLM the Label

MLM is a relatively new Australian clothing label headed by designer Julia Softley. The colour palette could be described as monochrome, with black & white being the key players each season. MLM create a lot of fun basics, as well as pretty key pieces each season to add to your wardrobe. The brand also design shoes and other accessories that are a must see.

Love : Autumn Inspiration

Given that it is Autumn in a few days, I thought it would be well suited to take a peek at what looks the stylish women of New York City were wearing during NYFW. The change of season makes us very excited as we get to shop all of the new looks and plan our wardrobes for the next few months.

Not that it looks like it will get cooler in Perth anytime in the near future.. but we are allowed to daydream, aren't we?

Our forecast : black & white, clashing prints, felt hats, animal print, tailored sporty luxe, tartan & fabulous coats. Oh, and denim. But of course.

The key to making a denim short work {we aren't after the 'Daisy Duke' look, as fabulous as Jessica Simpson looked in a pair..} is the slouch. Most of the pairs above have a slight slouch, with the Stussy "Brooklyn Short" winning in that department. It comes down to personal preference with the length, but somewhere around the 3/4 thigh height works the best in our opinion {which most of the shorts featured above display}.

Teamed with a pair of flats, converse or havaianas and a striped oversized tee, you are set with a classic, comfy and casual summer uniform.

Love : Shirt Dress

We love a shirt dress here at belle | beau. Especially if it's denim.

This one sported by Brooke was a purchase years ago from Sportsgirl and has lasted the distance over a few seasons.

we also don't mind a bottle of bubbles or two. much to the Rockstar's disapproval.

Black Tie Event Inspiration

I have worn this Carla Zampatti dress pictured to several events. It sure is a show stopper!

I love using red when I have an event to go to - a colour I wouldn't normally turn to. Red lipstick( Nars Heat Wave is a favourite) and black OPI nails (we don't want to be too matchy-matchy) or a nude nail for a more classic look.

When wearing a red or bright lip, I like to leave the eyes as natural as possible, lined with black liquid eyeliner.

I have 2 go- to hair styles for an event. One is side parted waves, the other is a classic ballet bun. This dress definately called for the later.

When a dress is detailed , I like to keep the shoes timeless a nd simple. These Zara heels are a perfect example.
